PART THIRTY SEVEN:
Sura 18 - "The Cave"
By David E. Flang
Mohammand begins Sura 18 with praise to Allah for sending down the Koran and writes that it will not deceive. The Koran will direct and warn of "grievous" woe through Mohammand and he will announce to the faithful to do right and receive a good reward.
Mohammand also writes, "And that it [The Koran] may warn those [Christians] who say, "God hath begotton a Son [Jesus]". Mohammand stresses there is no history of this occurrence and it is "grievous" and a "lie" to say it. If Christians reject the Koran's teaching about God not having a son, then Muslims should kill themselves on the Christian door steps to demonstrate their objection to this belief. Again Mohammad reiterates this belief by writing "But God [Allah] is my Lord, and no other being [Jesus] will iI associate with my Lord and in Sura 17, verse 111, "And say: Praise be to God [Allah] who hath not begotton a son [Jesus], who hath no partner in the Kingdom...,"
For those who believe God had a son, Mohammand writes in verse 100, Hell is close to the infidels, in verse 101, Hell is the abode of the infidels, and in verse 105, Hell is there reward. Unbelievers will have the fire and smoke and when they call for help will be given water "like molten brass" shall "scald their faces". Believers who have done right go to the Garden of Eden and a blissful reward.
The Sura concludes as Mohammand writes that there is but one God (Allah) and no other (Jesus) can share in the worship of his Lord
