ISLAM & THE MUSLIMS
Blessing or Burden?
YOU be the Judge
By LTC Daniel Marvin USASF (ret)
PART SIXTEEN
As promised I will now detail some of those significant parts of Chapter
Five of the KORAN that relate to the treatment of “infidels”
[non-Muslims] and tell of Muhammad’s no-nonsense discussion of who Jesus
is and what he spoke of as his concept of what Christians refer to as the
“Holy Trinity.”
In verses 12 and 13 Muhammad tells his people, “God hath promised to
those who believe, and do the things that are right [as written in the
KORAN], that for them is pardon and a great reward. But they who are
Infidels [Jews and Christians] and treat our [Muslims] signs as lies –
these shall be mated with Hell fire.”
To further emphasize his own power, Muhammad, when discussing his walk
with the “prophets” states unequivocally “And in the footsteps of the
prophets caused we Jesus, the son of Mary, to follow, confirming the law
[the KORAN] which was before him: and we gave him the Evangel [the
Gospel!] with its guidance and light, confirmatory of the preceding Law;
a guidance and warning to those who fear God” He goes on to relate “And
to thee we [the Prophets?] have sent down the book of the Koran with
truth, confirmatory of previous Scriptures, and their safe-guard.” “Oh
Believers!” he warns in verse 56, “take not the Jews or Christians as
friends. They are but one another’s friends. If any one of you taketh
them for his friends, he surely is one of them! God will not guide the
evil doers.” So as to reinforce the feelings against “infidels” J. M.
Rodwell, in his explanatory note # 22 to Chapter 5 in the KORAN, explains
“of the leading features of the character of the Mooslims [Muslims] none
is more remarkable then their religious pride. They regard persons of
every other faith as the children of perdition [damned to Hell]; and such
the Mooslim is early taught to despise.”
In Muhammad’s eyes, Jesus was apparently not to be considered a part of
what the infidel Christians called their “trinity” but, as he tells his
people in verse 79, “The Messiah [Jesus], Son of Mary, is but an Apostle;
other Apostles have flourished before him; and his mother was a just
[human] person: they both ate food.”
In Part Seventeen I will relate significant prophesies of Muhammad
contained in this chapter. Until then – You may be wise to continue to
explore the KORAN. Be the judge of it all.
