Sura 38 "Sad", Part 67

By David E. Flang

Muhammad begins; "By the Koran full of warning!" The infidels (Christians)
are full of pride and contend with Allah, who says, "How many generations
have we destroyed before them! And they cried for mercy but no time was it
of escape." The infidels are amazed that the warner (Muhammad) was from
among themselves and declare him a sorcerer, a liar, and an impostor. J. M.
Rodwell writes in the third foot note: "That is, in the Christian religion,
which teaches, Muhammad ironically implies, a plurality of Gods." Muhammad
says he alone received "a book of warnings" from above and the infidels
doubt because "they have not tasted my vengeance."

Muhammad mentions the people of  Noah, Ad, and Pharaoh who treated the
prophets as impostors  and accused the apostles with falsehood and he said
to remember those who did right such as David, Solomon, Job, Abraham, Isaac,
Jacob, Ishmael, Elisha and Dhoulkefl who will dwell in the "Gardens of
Eden", reclining with "virgins of their own age" while consuming fruit and
drink. But for those evil doers "a wretched home", "Hell - wherein they
shall be burned: how wretched a bed!" "Let them taste it - boiling water and
gore" and more of such like. In hell the occupants desire vengeance on those
who caused this to befall them and look for those they had scorned.

Muhammad writes that Allah said to the angels that He was going to make man
out of clay and when He did the angels were to worship the man. All the
angels prostrated themselves before man, except Eblis (Lucifer) who became an
unbeliever. "O Elbis," said God [Allah], "What hindereth thee from prostrating thyself
before him [ a god?] whom my hands have made." Elbis swears to seduce all
except the true servants of Allah and Allah promises to fill Hell with those
who follow him (Elbis).

"Of a truth the Koran is no other than a warning to all creatures."
